Siblings end life due to delay in marriage

The victims, Vedanayagi and Nagendran, belong to an agricultural family in Chinna Sekkadu village in Manali. Their father Chinnaraj died a few months ago and mother has been mentally unstable since then, said police officials.

While their elder brother Panjatcharam (42) got married a few years ago, the marriage plans of Vedanayagi and Nagendran got delayed as they couldn’t find a suitable match.

On Sunday, the siblings went missing, and Panjatcharam, who was searching for the duo, later found them floating in the well in the backyard of their house. He alerted the police, who retrieved the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. A case has been registered in this regard.
