4-yr-old run over by luxury car near Madhya Kailash

The incident took place when the victim Phelinta was riding pillion with her mother Ramala who was on her way to meet her friend in Tiruvanmiyur on her two-wheeler. Police said that the accident took place when Ramala tried taking a right turn at the traffic signal at Madhya Kailash. 

“A luxury car speeding from behind hit them and fled. In the impact, both mother and daughter were thrown off the bike,” a police officer said. 

Eyewitnesses said that passers-by were reluctant to come forward to help, which allegedly led to Phelinta bleeding excessively and eventually succumbing to injuries.  

On information, Adyar Traffic Investigation police rushed to the spot and sent Ramala (29) to a private hospital for treatment. Phelinta’s body has been sent to Stanley Hospital for post-mortem. 

The Adyar Traffic Investigation police claimed that they were trying to identify the owner of the vehicle involved in the accident but refused to divulge further details.
