    Following Hindu Makkal Katchi’s state head Arjun Sampath’s interview to a private TV channel that he will conduct the idol procession during Vinayaka Chathurthi through the mosque area of Ice House flouting a ban imposed.

    The police officials said that a case has been registered against him and preparations are underway to execute a bond against him under Section 107 of CrPC.

    The festival falls on August 25 and procession has been scheduled to take place on September 3.

    Police every year used to make tight security arrangements to ensure that the procession passes without any problem.
