Describing the commission of inquiry announced by the state government as a ‘hogwash’, Stalin said that if Chief Minister Palaniswami was keen on unearthing the mystery behind Jayalalithaa’s death, he should drop the hogwash inquiry commission and order a CBI inquiry into the same.

The inquiry commission was not only an attempt to deceive the state people but also a fraudulent scheme designed to facilitate the merger of the two factions and go about their corruption unhindered, the Leader of Opposition remarked, referring to the various scams and controversies the government’s led by OPS and EPS were mired in since Jayalalithaa’s death on December 5, 2016.

Recalling at length the dramatic of turn of events in the AIADMK from September 22, 2016, the day of Jayalalithaa’s hospitalisation, to her ultimate demise on December 5, 2016 and subsequent change of guard in the chief minister’s office twice to Thursday’s announcement for constituting an inquiry commission, Stalin alleged complicity on the part of OPS and EPS in Jayalalithaa’s mysterious death. Questioning OPS and EPS silence on the issue thus far, the DMK working president asserted that the two have formed an alliance and designed a fraudulent scheme to merge the factions and continue looting.
