Online coaching classes for competitive exams gains ground

With the confusion around National Entrance cum Eligibility Test (NEET) examination this year, many aspirants depended on apps and sites for their preparations. “There are several apps available online that helped me through the preparations. This was the first time we were writing the exam and there was not much reference material available. The apps provided us worksheets using which, my friends and I prepared for the exams,” says S Sidharth, who cleared the text. He further adds, “Since these are objective type questions, there is a site that has a timer, that requires you to solve the questions in the given time. It helped me manage time better in the exam.”

Some students say that the online forums help them save a lot of money. “A Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) training class normally costs Rs 40,000. I am preparing using materials available online for free. If I have any doubts, I ask professors or experts online,” says S Sekar. 

Coaching institutions too understand the importance of this.  Officers IAS Academy recently launched its online coaching Platform for Civil Service aspirants appearing for IAS Main Exams in October 2017.
