Rain plays spoilsport at Murasoli fete

The valediction of DMK’s Murasoliplatinum jubilee celebrations came to an abrupt end on Friday due to heavy downpour in the city.

It started raining 15 minutes after the meeting began at the YMCA sports complex in Chennai.

DMK working president M K Stalin thanking the organizers and audience said that the cancelled event would be organised in a grander manner in future.

Leaders on stage, most of whom were elderly persons, braved the heavy shower for sometime.

CPI national committee member R Nallakannu released the platinum jubilee souvenir. It was received by C T Datchinamurthi, Murasoli chief

manager.

Nallakannu said, “Murasoli will continue to be a weapon (of thought) which will usher in social and political change in Tamil Nadu”
