10 arrested for Sriperumbudur bizman murder
The Sriperumbudur police have arrested 10 men in connection with murder of a small-time businessman Ramesh on July 29.

Police said that the main accused Raji (25) of Satharaithoppu, Tiruvallur, joined hands with Ramesh’s other rivals to murder him. Police were searching for Ramesh’s business aide Raji, who went missing since Ramesh’s murder. According to them, Raji joined Ramesh’s business of collecting food waste from industries about six months ago for a salary of Rs 10,000 a month.
However, Ramesh came to know that Raji was secretly working for another person who is also into similar business and confronted him. Ramesh asked Raji to quit and allegedly threatened to murder him. In retaliation, Raji joined hands with Ramesh’s two other rivals, Thirunavukkarasu (26) and Kathavarayan (24) of Katchipatti village and plotted to eliminate Ramesh.
On July 29, Raji who was with Ramesh alerted Thirunavukkarasu and Katharavayan about their whereabouts. The two men along with seven others from the locality arrived at the spot with machetes and hacked him to death on the spot. The other accused in the murder are Santhakumar (24), Sarathkumar (25), Karthikeyan (24), Stephanraj (24), Vijayakanth (27), Vinoth (25) and Ragupathi (26). All of them were arrested on Tuesday.
