Police said the child suddenly fell unconscious and was admitted in the Stanley Hospital in March this year. There were no visible injuries on the child.  However, the child did not respond to the treatment and died in the hospital. Following the death, the Korukkupet police had registered a case and started investigations. After post mortem, the internal organs were also sent for chemical tests and later the report suggested that the child died because of an impact on its head. Police grew suspicious about the nature of injury and interrogated the child’s father Rajesh. He later confessed to the crime and told police that he murdered the infant since it was a girl. Police then arrested Rajesh and remanded him in judicial custody.
