TNEA counselling: 162 students with disabilities allotted seats
Special arrangements for students with disabilities were made on the third day of TNEA counselling on Wednesday. From a golf cart for transporting the students to re-allocating proceedings to the ground floor, Anna University made sure that all the students were comfortable.

Of the 233 students called, 162 were allotted seats. Twenty seats were allotted to hearing impaired, 24 to visually impaired and 118 to orthopaedically challenged. The session began from 9 am for the hearing impaired and the 10.30 am slot was for the visually impaired.
The rest of the day was slotted for orthopaedically challenged. Ashwath Thulasinarayan, a CBSE student of DAV Public School, who scored 91.2 per cent in Class 12, said, “I chose Manufacturing Engineering in the College of Engineering Guindy. There were parents, who said facilities could be better.
“There are not enough chairs and students and parents have to sit on the pavements. Also, there are no stalls by banks for student loans that are usually there during the general counselling,” sais Sukumar S, a relative of a candidate. Meanwhile, Anna University staff said that they did not have enough time to prepare as announcements were made in the last minute.
