Techie death: Cops checking CCTV clip

The deceased identified as Ilayaraja, (31), resident of Tindivanam, last reported for work on Monday and failed to return home thereafter. Sources said the footage was taken from the CCTV installed above the doors of the dormitory to which the entry is restricted by the access cards issued by the respective company. “We have conducted inquiries with his colleagues. It may also be a case of natural death. We are waiting for the post-mortem report, which alone will establish the cause and time of death. After that, we will be able to make a headway in the case,” said a senior police official. 

When contacted, Kancheepuram SP Santosh Hadimani said they were probing in all possible angles. “We have found out that he had walked into the dormitory at 8.56 pm on Monday. Though others who walked in after him came out, except the techie,” he said. Asked why the deceased was found naked, the official said that they found his clothes on the same bed where his body was found, and were in the process of verifying it. 

“Some have the habit of sleeping naked. Whether he too had that habit needs to be checked with the family. There were no external injuries on the body. The mystery shrouding the death will be demystified once the post-mortem report arrives,” he added. The deceased is survived by wife Revathi and two daughters.
