Aditanar statue to be re-installed at Egmore
The statue of Aditanar would be re-installed on Pantheon Road in Egmore after works for a traffic park are completed, according to a release.

The statue was originally unveiled on May 24, 1987 by the then Chief Minister MG Ramachandran and the Daily Thanthi group has been carrying out maintenance works on a regular basis.Â
Since there were three separate green hubs on that junction, the Greater Chennai Corporation decided to convert three parks into one park. Since, renovation work was under progress, the statue was temporarily shifted and was under the care of Daily Thanthi group administration.Â
The GCC has been handed over the responsibility to take up maintenance works of the park.
