TN State Secretariat staff commits suicide

An Agricultural department Assistant Section  Officer working in the State Secretariat committed suicide at his residence in suburban West Tambaram late last night.

Police sources said the 34-year-old victim was identified as  Deepak Chakravarty had reportedly taken the extreme step as he  was suffering from depression.

He was found hanging from the ceiling of the fan.

Deepak was living with his mother Vanita, wife Sudha (30) and  two children.

Last night, he locked himself inside the room and did not come out for a long time.

His family members grew suspicious and kept knocking at the door, but there was no response.

They along with their neighbours broke open the door and found Deepak hanging.

He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead. 

Police have registered a case.
