Thermal plant AE killed in accident

Police said Santhanam (35), a resident of Manikandan Nagar, Tirumullaivoyal was driving home when his car hit a stationary tipper lorry at 200 Feet Road near Manjambakkam. 

The front portion of the car was completely damaged and Santhanam died on the spot. Following the incident, the lorry driver moved his vehicle to about 100 meters away from the spot and escaped. 

Other motorists failed to notice the accident and Santhanam’s body remained inside the car till Thursday morning. Later, some passers-by alerted the Madhavaram traffic police, who retrieved Santhanam’s body from the car. A case has been registered and further probe is on.
