Upset over parents’ stand, lovers commit suicide
Unable to bear their parents’ objection to getting married, a young couple immolated themselves near Tirumullaivoyal on Friday.

The police said M Mythili (20), a resident of Lenin Nagar, Ambattur and K Parthipan (21), a resident of Balu Nagar, Puthur, were in love. Their parents recently came to know of the relationship and objected to it. Following this, the couple met near Vivakandhan Street junction on Friday evening and set themselves ablaze.
Locals rushed to the spot and tried to save them but they were charred beyond recognition. Tirumullaivoyal police retrieved the bodies and sent them to Kilpauk Medical College for post-mortem. Further investigation is on.
