TASMAC employees union on the warpath
More than 500 members of the TASMAC employees association staged a road roko in front of Ezhilagam, where state government offices are located on Kamaraj salai demanding that employees of the closed TASMAC shops be given alternate government jobs.

It maybe recalled that the AIADMK following its poll promise had closed down a total of 1000 shops in two stages of 500 shops each. The association demanded that employees who number around 30 per shop should be provided alternate employment sources when the shops are closed.
Fifty members of Makkal Adhikaran staged a demonstration in front of Egmore railway station demanding action against Tirupur ADSP A. Pandiarajan who slapped a woman during an agitation demanding that shops from roadsides not be shifted to their area, Samalapuram, a few days ago.
