Woman who claimed Jayalalithaa was brought dead to Apollo gets bail
The Madras High Court on Wednesday granted bail to Rama Seetha, a nutritionist of Perambur who was arrested for claiming in a public meeting that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was brought dead to Apollo Hospital.

Justice S Bhaskaran before whom the bail petition came up on hearing the arguments put forth by the petitioners counsel granted the bail. The nutritionist was arrested on February 26 based on a complaint filed by the management of Apollo hospital, where Jayalalithaa was admitted on September 22, 2016. The management had claimed that she never worked for them.Â
It is alleged that during a public meeting held by supporters of Deepa Jayakumar, niece of Jayalalithaa, the nutritionist claimed that the late Chief Minister was brought dead to the hospital. Police registered a case against her under cheating by impersonation, deliberately giving provocative statement with intent to cause riot and statement conducive to public mischief.Â
