Stalin to CM: Solve water issues, stop rant against DMK
Accusing Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy of not doing enough to solve the water crises in the state, DMK working president on Sunday asked the government to immediately constitute a committee headed by a senior IAS officer to coordinate all river water disputes of the state and take measures to protect the welfare of the state and livelihood of the farmers.

Referring to the abysmally low storage in the reservoirs, mainly in the city where Cholavaram lake has only one per cent of its storage, Stalin said that neighbouring Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra were constructing check dams to store water and deny the due share to TN.
Hence it was necessary to immediately constitute a committee headed by a senior bureaucrat to coordinate the actions take on all river water disputes the state was involved in.
Wondering if the CM has taken at least one such action to wriggle the state out of the water crises it was entangled in, Stalin said that he was pointing out the issues to the CM who was keener on firing broadsides at the DMK instead of factoring in the people’s rating of his government.
Taking serious exception to Palanisamy’s accusation in Coimbatore on Saturday that the DMK was conspiring to topple the AIADMK regime and gain backdoor entry to power, the DMK working president said the government, which was uttering names of convicted people in the Assembly, has failed to even supply a pot of water to its people.
“DMK does not have to pull down such a government, people will do it on their own. DMK will not take a short cut to power, it will return to power by legitimate means,” Stalin said.
In a veiled reference to TTV Dinakaran’s candidature for RK Nagar by-poll, Stalin quipped “The Chief Minister must have vented his frustration on attempts being made within his party to occupy the CM’s office out at DMK.”
