Even her parents were skeptic about the move but now she makes him proud as she reaches out to hundreds of women.

She never thought she would become an entrepreneur. It was her husband who identified her potential and encouraged her to start something of her own.  “I started a small IT company in 2008 and after facing a lot of challenges initially, I learnt how to run a successful business. Thereafter, I never thought of getting into a job as I really loved what I am doing.”

After finishing her PG in nutrition in Avinashilingam University, she started her career as a lecturer in the SRM College of hotel management, Kattankulathur and worked for more than 4 and half years. Things changed after marriage and when I wanted to start something on my own, my dad did not agree. I could not convince my dad but I thought that in due course he would understand. I took the risk and today, he is proud of me.”

She is now giving opportunities to many women across India. She founded Women Entrepreneurs India(WEI) in 2013 out of her passion to create an empowering eco-system of women entrepreneurs. “WEI strives to educate, train, support and motivate women entrepreneurs all over India, through innovative business ideas, startup funding avenues, marketing support and mentor connects,” she says.

A doting mother and wife, she ensures that she has enough time for the family. Her aim is to see women entrepreneurs occupy the space creating opportunity for other women.
