When Justice R Mahadevan commenced his sitting on Wednesday, advocate Aravindh Pandian appearing on behalf of social activist ‘Traffic’ KR Ramaswamy made a mention seeking to take up the hearing of the case as even the caretaker Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, former Assembly Speaker PH Pandian and Jaylalithaa’s niece J Deepa have raised strong suspicion over Jayalailthaa’s death on December 5.
Justice Mahadevan who refused to take up the case immediately, merely noted that it will be taken up during the regular course.
Ramaswamy in his plea has contended that the trio on February 7 had made certain shocking confessions and revelations touching upon the demise of Jayalalithaa. They had alleged that 12 persons, including Sasikala, her husband Natarajan, their family members and the doctors in Apollo Hospitals have conspired and the former CM was done to death, the body hurriedly disposed and the evidence erased.
“This is a clear case of corpus delicti and prima facie bears all elements of a huge murder conspiracy with hidden motives and they are enough to set the criminal law into motion,” Ramaswamy noted. He also prayed for a direction to provide military protection to Pandian, Deepa and Panneerselvam, owing to the remarks they made about Jayalalithaa’s death and assurance to disclose more dark secrets in future.
