The Shastri Nagar police cracked the Dr Narasimha Reddy murder case and arrested five persons, including the son-in-law of a maid, who had been working for the doctor around 10 days prior to the incident.

Police said the maid had no information regarding the plans of her sonin-law, who is also accused in a murder case. The police team cracked the case in two days and arrested all the five suspects in the murder case. They were identified as Arun, son-in-law of the maid, Prema, and his associates Satheesh, Arjuna, Prem Kumar and Jeeva Prakash.
Police said Arun had masterminded the plot, thinking that Dr Reddy had a lot of money and valuables in his house. Reddy had discontinued his medical practice and had been involved in small-time money lending at his residence at Karapagam Garden Avenue, Besant Nagar. Arun and his friends had planned the murder at a bar.
Police said Arun gave instructions and stood at the ground floor of the building, while four others broke open the balcony door and entered the house around 2.30 am on Saturday. “They had gone fully prepared for the murder as they were carrying knives and other tools. They used the clothesline at Dr Reddy’s house to tie him down,” a police official said.
The gang then slit the doctor’s throat and escaped from the spot after looting Rs 15,000. Police said the deceased did not have any gold in the house. Cops were yet to recover the stolen cash from the accused.
