2-day workshop for varsity teachers from November 26
Challenges facing higher education, service conditions affecting teachers, current situation in universities, rules governing them, roles and responsibilities of teachers and teacher associations in a globalised scenario will be addressed in a two-day orientation programme planned by the AUT on November 26 and 27, according to AUT general secretary Dr N Pasupathy.

More than 300 professors from colleges attached to the Madras University, Periyar, Bharathidasan, Bharathiar and Tiruvalluvar University are expected to participate in the programme. The orientation programme will be inaugurated by Bharathiar University VC Dr A Ganapathy. Justice D Hariparandaman and M Duraipandian, general secretary, confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers will deliver the keynote addresses and TNAU VC Dr K Ramasamy will deliver the valedictory address, Pasupathy added.
