The first bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice R Mahadevan on recording the submission of the Advocate General that within the next two weeks the necessary Government Order and release of funds would be made listed the case for further hearing to December 16.

While the initial proposal was merely confined to the High Court and other courts in Chennai, a plea moved by an advocate S Kasiramalingam sought for installation of CCTV cameras in all courts in the State as that would do away with allegations of brow beating either by advocates or judges.

He had also submitted that alteration of witness depositions can be prevented if closed-circuit television is available inside court halls.

Based on this the first bench had directed the state to submit a proposal for installation of the cameras inside the courts and in the corridors, as well as outside the courts in Tamil Nadu.
