Echo TN’s stand on Cauvery in Parl, Mani urges MPs
Campaigning for the Thanjavur PMK candidate, the party president GK Mani asked the MPs from the state to unitedly raise the Cauvery issue in the Parliament. This may bring some kind of solution to the issue and solace to the farmers, he added.

Appealing to the voters in the constituency to vote for the PMK, he said “Winning of these three seats will never make a difference for both the AIADMK and DMK, but voters can exercise their franchise in favour of PMK and support the alternative policies of the party.”
“Thanjavur is the headquarters of the Cauvery Delta and the farmers here are betrayed by Centre as well the state governments. Despite the Supreme Court’s order on forming the Cauvery Management Board (CMB), the Centre’s stand shocked everyone in the state,” he said.
PMK president appealed to the Centre to immediately form the CMB and waive all the agriculture loans. He urged the MPs from the state to unitedly raise the issue and paralyse the functioning of the Parliament in the upcoming session as it was being done by other states like Bihar, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh in the matters concerning their respective states. He added that the BJPled Union government should not be allowed to snatch away the rights of Tamil Nadu over the Cauvery, with an eye on the forthcoming Assembly elections in Karnataka.
He also said that his party has been appealing for rejuvenation of the Tamil Nadu Rice Research Institute (TRRI) in Aaduthurai and to release new varieties of paddy that require less water and give a good yield. The PMK leader said the party’s founder president S Ramadoss, MP Anbumani Ramadoss would visit Thanjavur for campaigning shortly. Party’s candidate G Kunjithapatham was present.
