13 TTEs suspended for false TA claim in Tiruchy

The suspension has been ordered pursuant to a zonewide probe conducted by SR headquarters about TTEs claiming massive sums as TA even without turning up for duty. In the edition dated October 23, DTNext had carried an article titled, ‘ Southern Railway begins probe on errant TTEs ’, about an enquiry revealing the scam by TTEs, some of whom had even reportedly engaged proxies and collected TA running into several thousands of  rupees per month. Senior SR officials confirmed that prima facie evidence has been found against 13 TTEs in Tiruchy  to  claim TA with “zero earning” and hence the railway manager of the division has been instructed to issue suspension orders to them and also initiate strict disciplinary proceedings. “More action would follow as the probe net widens,” a senior SR officer at the headquarters said.
