Speaking to the media after participating in the Bhoomi Pooja for the proposed district BJP office, Tamilisai said, the all-party meeting which MK Stalin had convened was just a farce. “If they are for the farmers, they should have asked the Congress to release the prescribed 2000 cusecs of water as per the orders by the Apex court. But they had discussed only about forming Cauvery Management Board,” she said.

She also asked the TNCC president Thirunavukarasar to meet Siddaramaiah and initiate steps to release 2000 cusecs of water for Tamil Nadu. Pointing out that the Tamil people are looking for an alternative, Tamilisai maintained that BJP has been developing as an alternate force in the state. Claiming that the elections to Thanjavur and Aravakurichi elections would be a crucial test for Election commission of India as the General elections to these assembly constituencies were cancelled, she pointed out. “If cash was distributed again, it would be a mockery of democracy”, she added. She wanted the Election commission to curb the use of money or cash in kind in these elections by increasing the number of check posts across these constituencies.

She also criticized that the so-called farmer friends Thiruma, GK Vasan, Vaiko and left parties who had opted out in the election. This shows they are not really farmer-friendly and stressed that the BJP alone can help the farmers and this election would prove it, Tamilisai claimed.

She said 15 district presidents of the BJP have been deputed to coordinate election work in Thanjavur constituency and said the central leadership of the party would announce the list of candidates in a day or two for the by-elections scheduled for many states in the country. However the work for the elections has already commenced and the meeting of the booth agents were organised in Thanjavur on Thursday, she added. Earlier she said all the 49 district units of TN BJP would have their own buildings which are would be identical.
