CIPET trade union opposes HQ at New Delhi
The united forum of CIPET unions said it would not accept Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Anant Kumar’s idea of opening an alternate headquarters at New Delhi according to union president C Balakrishnan.
Chennai
While welcoming Anant Kumar’s announcement of letting CIPET continue at Chennai, he said “It was unheard of for an organisation to have two HQs. ” This opinion would be informed to the Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizer, Mansukh L. Mandaviya who was in Chennai. He would meet the union officials on Friday.
Union sources said, Anant Kumar’s move was purely parochial given that the shifting announcement came during the height of the Cauvery row between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
Stating that the union would agitate if the fertilizer ministry continued with its idea of an alternate HQ at New Delhi, Balakrishnan said this would be put across to Mandaviya when they met him.
