Stalin said DMK would also take up the issue with Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, "the (Constitutional) authority, of the House."
"Assembly committees should be expeditiously set up. If that is not done, we will bring a no-confidence motion against the Speaker," Stalin told reporters, adding Dhanapal should not "create a situation" constraining them to opt for the motion.
He said 12 House Committees including ones for Estimates, Public Accounts and Privileges were to be set up annually according to rules.
But, there were "no signs," of the committees being formed despite Dhanapal "informing" the House during the recent session that they would set up after he and his party's deputy leader Duraimurugan took up the isssue in the Assembly, he said.
A reminder letter on the issue was handed over to the Assembly Speaker today, he said. "Our next step... We will meet the Governor if action is not taken expeditiously," he said.
Answering a question on the October 25 "all-party meeting," over Cauvery issue convened by DMK, he said a copy of resolutions adopted in the meeting was handed over at the offices of Finance Minister O Panneerselvam and the Chief Secretary.
Among others, the resolutions demanded convening of the Assembly for adopting a resolution on Cauvery issue.
