Cop injured during raid as stacked explosive go off
The kingpin in the murder case of a youth who was hacked to death after signing his condition bail near Madurai surrendered in Judicial Magistrate Court at Madurai, on Wednesday.

He was immediately remanded.The incident occurred on Tuesday when Nagendran came out of Nagamalai Pudukottai police station after signing his conditional bail. He was hacked to death by a gang near the station itself. Police suspected that previous enmity was the reason behind the murder of Nagendran, an accused in murder and attempt murder cases.
Car seized by policeÂ
The gang which had escaped in a car, abandoned the vehicle near Vilachery. The car was seized by the police and investigations were carried out. It was found that Sarath Kumar was the kingpin in the case and a search operation was launched.
Police secured two aides of Sarath Kumar - Pandi and Nagendran. When interrogated both revealed that another accused was hiding in a house at Pulloothu near Madurai.Â
But he managed to escape by the time police raided the house. To their surprise, police personnel found explosives in the house. Even as they continued the search, one of the explosive suddenly went off injuring a constable Vijayaraman.Â
Case registeredÂ
He was immediately rushed to Madurai GRH and declared out of danger after treatment. A case under the Explosive Substances Act was registered with the Samayanallur police, who are investigating the incident. Police have secured another accused, Murugan in the case and are interrogating him.
