Dietary experts join CM’s team of doctors
Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa who has been undergoing treatment at e Apollo Hospitals since September 22, is now interacting with hospital staff and progressing gradually, a hospital communique said.

“The Chief Minister continues to be under treatment and observation for all vital parameters, respiratory support and passive physiotherapy,” Dr. N. Sathyabhama, Director, Medical Services at the hospital stated in a press release. A team of critical care experts including senior cardiologists, respiratory physicians, senior consultants of the infectious diseases department, endocrinologists and diabetologists have been providing treatment and care to ailing Chief Minister. “The nutrition and essential nutrient intake is being attended to by the senior consultants from the dietary team,” the bulletin from Apollo stated. The Chief Minister was admitted to the hospital for fever and dehydration and had been attended to by a team of critical care experts including London-based specialist Dr. Richard Beale and a team of intensive care experts from AIIMS in New Delhi. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Governor Vidyasagar Rao had allocated the portfolios handled by Jayalalithaa to Finance Minister O Panneerselvam till such time she recovered fully. The FM was also asked to conduct cabinet meetings in the absence of the CM.
