Immediately he was rushed to a private hospital and treated. His bike was left unattended at the road side near the accident spot. Paraman managed to inform Kannan, his kin about the money kept in the tool box of his bike. But when Kannan searched the bike the cash was missing from the tool box. He informed Paraman immediately and also alerted the police. A formal complaint was launched at the Usilampatti town police station who initiated immediate the investigation.
When the inquiry began, one of the shops opposite to the accident spot had a CCTV camera and when the footage was checked police found that a man who tried to help Paraman at the time of accident had looted the cash. The culprit turned out to be shopkeeper Ajith who was running a radio shop. When Ajith was interrogated he confessed to having committed the crime. He was arrested by the Usilampatti police.
