The PIL moved by social activist K R Traffic Ramaswamy has sought a direction to the State Principal Secretary, Chief Secretary, Home Secretary and Apollo Hospitals to file a health status report along with photographs in the court.

Ramaswamy has contended that ever since Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was admitted to Apollo Hospitals on September 22 for fever and dehydration, mere periodical bulletins have been released.

“On Sunday, the hospital said she was being treated for infection and that she was responding well to antibiotics. It is also said that a doctor had flown down from London and that he had concurred with the line of treatment being offered to the Chief Minister. Even the acting Governor Vidyasagar Rao, who visited the hospital on Saturday had issued a statement expressing satisfaction with the treatment being given,” he stated.

But despite all this, neither the hospital bulletins nor the statements offered seem to present a real picture of what is ailing Chief Minister as well as the treatment given, Ramaswamy said.

Pointing out that people were apprehensive about public order due to rumours about the Chief Minister’s health, he said the citizens ought to know the real status of Chief Minister’s health and dispel the lingering fear.
