Woman pushed by son dies in Thoothukudi

The accused identified as Jeniston was arrested by Thoothukudi South police immediately following the incident. Police said that Jeniston working at a private shipping company was not regular to work and his mother Mercilin who was not happy with his ways used to rebuke him for not going to work regularly. On Friday morning as Jeniston did not go to work, Mercilin scolded him and following that there was an argument between them. 

When the quarrel intensified Jeniston pushed his mother and in the impact Mercilin fell down and sustained fatal injuries on her head. Soon after the incident Mercilin died on the spot. 

Immediately neighbours rushed in and informed the police. They recovered the body and sent the body for post-mortem.
