A Jyothi, father of the boy and a resident of Tambaram, had given missing complaints with the Mangalam police station at Puducherry and also at Bengaluru East police station.
According to sources, J Aswin Kumar, left the school hostel on Sunday, saying that he was going for a haircut. But he did not return. The next day, he called up the school authorities and said that he was calling from Bengaluru. He had told them that he was not interested in residential schooling and was not planning to return. The school authorities informed the parents.
“My wife and I left for Bengaluru immediately after getting the information. However, we were not able to trace him as he was not carrying any mobile phone. So we lodged a complaint with the Bengaluru East police station. We have also given a missing complaint with the Mangalam police station in Puducherry,” the boy’s father told DTNext.
When the boy called the school authorities, he was said to be in Bengaluru railway station. He had informed them that he is going to go away. “The school authorities first thought that he was coming home. We have no idea where our son has gone,” Jyothi said.
Meanwhile police said they are investigating and wanted to check whether the boy had any problem in the school or at the hostel.
