Coimbatore woman stabbed to death by stalker
In yet another incident of women being stalked and murdered for allegedly evading advances, a 23-year-old girl in the state,was stabbed to death on late Wednesday by her alleged stalker.

S. Dhanya, a resident of Thennampalayam Road in Annur, was reportedly stabbed by Jafir, when her parents had gone to the hospital. A native of Kerala, the victim was a B.Sc. graduate, working in a private company for the last two years. The family had been living in UG Mahal on Thennampalayam Road for a decade. While her father is a tailor, her mother is a homemaker.Â
According to the police, Jahir, a 27-year-old youth who is also a Keralite was in love with Dhanya. Even though she did not reciprocate his feelings, Jahir persisted that she accepts his proposal, police sources said.
Reportedly, her parents got her engaged and the wedding was scheduled to take place in October. On Wednesday, Dhanya's family and fiance had also gone to a temple on the occasion of Onam.
In the evening, Dhanya's father fell ill and her mother took him to a nearby hospital leaving Dhanya alone at home. While returning, they were shocked to find Dhanya murdered.Â
