The incident happened just before the school commenced classes for the day on Wednesday when the two friends had gone to play at the school playground.

Sivaraman (6), son of Arun Prasad, manager at a private bank in the city and the Class 6 student were playing at the playground of Kathiravan Matriculation School when an argument broke out between the two. The two engaged in fisticuffs but the senior boy managed to overpower his younger schoolmate and hit his head on a stone lying near the ground. A profusely bleeding Sivaraman was rushed to the hospital but was declared brought dead.

Commissioner of Police MN Manjunatha  rushed to the spot in the morning and held enquiries with the school officials. Tirupur Central Police have registered a case under section 302 of IPC (murder) and are investigating.
