Jayalalithaa announces solatium to families of 23 victims
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today announced a solatium of Rs one lakh each to the families of 23 people who were killed in natural disasters between July and September last year.

An official release here today said the solatium, totalling Rs 23 lakh, would be given from the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund.
The Chief Minister expressed shock and grief over their deaths and offered her condolences to the bereaved families.
The release said the assistance would be given to the families of Sembulingam and Muthukumar (Pudhukottai), Gandhimathi (Trichy), Kailasam and Muniyan(Ramanathapuram), Suseendharan, Raja and Sivaraman (Nagapattinam), Vinu and Siluvaiyan (kanniyakumari), Panchanathan and Bharathidasan (Thanjavur), Ajay (Chennai), Sundarraj (Cuddalore), Naseer Ahamed (Vellore), Muthukrishnan (Thoothukudi), Vellaiyan (Villuppuram), Baanumathi (Papanasam), Arockiasamy (Tirunelveli) and Manjula (Tiruvallur).
