Tributes paid to Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar in Pondy
Floral tributes were paid to saint poet Thiruvalluvar on the occasion of his birth anniversary here today.

Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy,welfare minister P.Rajavelu,legislators and senior officials of the territorial administration among others garlanded a Thiruvalluvar statue on behalf of the territorial administration.
Leaders of other political parties and Tamil scholars also garlanded the statue to mark the occasion.
Meanwhile, a dry day was observed till 1800 hours today and all meat shops remained closed here on account of Thiruvalluvar day.
