Seshasayee is new Additional Commissioner Law and Order

On Thursday, the government effected a reshuffle among senior police officers in the state, moving the Additional Commissioner, Traffic and Additional Commissioner, South, in the Greater Chennai police. 

Additional Commissioner, Traffic, Chennai, P Thamaraikannan has been transferred and posted as North Zone IG while Additional Commissioner, South, C Sridhar has been transferred and posted as IG, West Zone. 

HM Jayaram, who was IG, Welfare, has been shifted and posted as Additional Commissioner Traffic, Chennai. Davidson Devasirvatham, who was kept on  compulsory wait from the post of IG,  Intelligence, has been appointed as IG, Welfare, Chennai. 

SN Seshasayee, who was Tirupur Commissioner, has been transferred and posted as Additional Commissioner (Law and Order), North, in the existing vacancy. 

K Shankar, IG, West Zone, has been posted as Additional Commissioner, Law and Order, Chennai South. 

Sandeep Rai Rathore, who was on deputation  to the Centre has been appointed as IG, Coastal Security, Chennai, in the existing vacancy. MN Manjunatha, IG, North zone, has been transferred and posted as Tirupur Commissioner. NK Senthamarai Kannan, IG, operations, has been transferred and posted as IG, Central Zone, in the existing vacancy. 

However, the government has not filled up the vacancy of  ADGP, Intelligence, which has been lying vacant for several years. At present, the IG intelligence is reporting directly to the state DGP as there is no ADGP or DGP exclusively for Intelligence. Around 240 Inspectors of Police also have been transferred.
