All courts in State to be provided CISF protection
All the courts in Tamil Nadu are set to get CISF security in a phased manner. The first bench of the Madras High Court comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice Pushpa Sathyanarayana, while dealing with a writ taken up suo motu pertaining to CISF security to Madras High Court made it clear that it would soon be extended to other courts in Tamil Nadu as well.

The Chief Justice, who was answering a question posed by advocate Rubert Barna Bas that the advocates were being subjected to severe hardship, especially the frisking that takes place each time they get in and out of the court, said, “whenever you enter the airport you are subjected to the security and the same security procedure needs to be adopted here also.”
However, the advocate argued that airports needed international security system and the same yardstick cannot be applied here as advocates entering the High Court premises were not extremists. The Chief Justice retorted by posing a question as to who were the root cause behind the turn of events in the High Court. He said it was unfortunate that advocates exhibited an agitated state of mind and seek cheap publicity. He further noted that the security procedure adopted in SC is being adopted here.
The Registrar General was taking steps to implement CISF security at the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court and all the other courts in Tamil Nadu will be extended CISF security in a phased manner.
