Chennai
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, AIADMK legislator Anbazhagan said the free mixers and grinders are being provided only in the ruling party (NR Congress) constituencies here adding that when people from other constituencies throng ruling party constituencies in a bid to get the freebies, they are being chased away by the ruling party legislators and workers. Anbazhagan cautioned that if the government fails to provide the free mixers and grinders in his Ouppalam constituency, he would mobilize people from his constituency and barge into the go-down (Amudhasurabhi) where the freebies have been stocked and forcefully distribute them. He also charged that the government failed to provide rain relief to the affected adding that as many as 6800 in his constituency had applied for relief. A sum of Rs.5200 should be provided immediately to those who lost their belongings under the Calamity Relief Fund rules, he said.Â
Anbazhagan further said that 5800 people who applied for assistance under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan for construction of toilets are yet to get assistance. He added that the party after getting the nod of its leader J Jayalalithaa, would organize agitations to press these demands.
