    Ravi Satyanarayana to take over as MAPS director

    Ravi Satyanarayana will take over as Station Director of Madras Atomic Power Station (MAPS) here from January 2.

    According to a MAPS press release, he will take over from the incumbent T.J. Kotteeswaran, an outstanding scientist, who was transferred to Rawatbhatta Site,  Rajasthan as Site Director.  Ravi Satyanarayana, an Electronics and Communication  Engineer, has 31 years of  experience in the nuclear field,  in the areas of  construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of nuclear power plants. 

    He has served in several Indian nuclear power stations such as Rajasthan Atomic Power Station, Narora Atomic Power Station and Kaiga Generating Station. He has also represented the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited in World Association of  Nuclear Operators, Tokyo Centre, Japan, from 2011 to 2013 for enhancing  the performance of Indian nuclear power plants. 

    He is an  expert of reactor control and computerised control systems and successfully commissioned the entire control systems of both Kaiga Generating Stations 1 and 2.  His contribution in the area of study of power grid disturbances and improving its reliability in coordination with grid authorities enhanced the availability factor of Kaiga Generating Stations. 

    Prior to the latest assignment,  he was the Chief Superintendent of the Madras Atomic Power  Station.
