PWF now invites Vasan-led TMC for electoral alliance
After inviting DMDK to join it days ago to fight the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections together, People's Welfare Front (PWF) leaders including Vaiko today called on TMC chief GK Vasan and urged him to be part of the PWF.

"We are confident the Tamil Maanila Congress would join the People's Welfare Front," Vaiko told reporters here after a meeting with Vasan.
PWF leaders MDMK General Secretary Vaiko, State Secretaries of CPI(M) and CPI G Ramakrishnan and R Mutharasan respectively and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi chief Thol Thirumavalavan called on Vasan.
"There is now a longing for a corrupt free regime in Tamil Nadu, and we told Vasan that we are asking him to be part of the PWF at such a juncture and his party joining hands with us will lead to a new dawn in the state politics," he said.
Vasan told reporters later that he would hold consultations with top leaders. "A correct decision over forging alliance would be taken at the right time," he said.
He added that he would also deliberate with party workers on the issue during his state-wide tour.
Few days ago, the PWF leaders had called on DMDK chief Vijayakanth and had invited him to join the front even as the latter was being wooed by the DMK and the BJP.
Vasan had quit the Congress in November 2014 to float the Tamil Maanila Congress.
