21-year-old student commits suicide

Police said Haripriya, who had completed B.Tech and got a placement in a private firm, wanted to do M.Tech abroad. Her father, Rajendran reportedly expressed his displeasure over this and asked her to join the firm here, police said. Dejected over this, Haripriya allegedly consumed poison and fell unconscious. Seeing this, her mother also allegedly consumed poison. Rajendran later rushed the two to the hospital. However, Haripriya died on the way to the hospital, while her mother’s condition is critical.
