Anbumani alleges graft in relief distribution
Alleging that corruption and nepotism in distribution of flood relief to farmers was prevalent in Cuddalore district, former union minister and PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss appealed to the government to be impartial in distribution of relief to the flood-affected
Chennai
Kattumannarkoil, Keerappalaym, Parangipet and Kumaratchi  farmers in the district bore the brunt of partial treatment in  distribution of crop loss compensation. He said that farmers who sought Rs 25,000 per acre as compensation from the State government received only Rs. 5400 and added that officials showed partiality towards AIADMK party men in matters of distribution of compensation.Â
The whole district had suffered heavy crop loss and wondered why the officials were eager to hand out relief to farmers owing allegiance to the ruling party. All farmers should be provided Rs 25,000 per acre and long term crop growers should be compensated with Rs 1 lakh per acre, Anbumani urged.
