Actor Vijay's Master is speculated to release on Pongal 2021. As the makers had announced earlier, the movie is all set to hit the silver screens much to the excitement of his fans. According to reports, makers decided to avoid OTT release, as the film was made for a theatrical release.

Earlier the 'Master' team had approached the Minister for Information and Publicity, Kadambur Raju requesting him to consider relaxing the COVID-19 norms for theatres and multiplexes, by allowing 100% seating capacity and also allow special show. But no official decision was made on that so far.

Following this, Actor Vijay has reportedly met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisami, today. According to reports, Vijay has placed a direct request with the CM. 'Master' producer Lalith Kumar and Minister SP Velumani were also present in the meeting, reports said.

Both Vijay fans and the makers of the 'Master' movie are expecting a positive response from the CM soon, as the movie is likely to be released on 13th January 2021, ahead of the Pongal holidays.

Earlier, the movie was certified U/A by the Censor Board, announced the producers. The film also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Gouri Kishan and Shanthnu in pivotal roles.

Helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film was looking at April release this year before coronavirus played spoilsport.
