Rest of Ponniyin Selvan to be shot in Chennai

Over the last few days, there have been reports on Ponniyin Selvan’s shoot post lockdown.

While the crew had decided to shoot in Hyderabad and Pune it looks like there is a change of plan yet again.

A source in the know of things told DT Next, “The cast and crew of Ponniyin Selvan have decided to shoot the remaining portions of the film in Chennai. Huge sets will be erected in a studio on the outskirts of the city. Mani Ratnam felt that it would be safer and at the same time, a huge chunk of portions could be completed on time.”

However, it is still not clear if Aishwarya Rai will agree to travel to Chennai even if the shoot begins once things ease out. Ponniyin Selvan, which is jointly produced by Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions has a star ensemble of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Vikram Prabhu, Shobita Dhulipala, Aishwarya Lekshmi, among others. AR Rahman will compose the music.
