Her song in the film, Yaayum, became a huge hit among youngsters and still tops the chart. She also played the lead in the controversial film, Nungambakkam, which was based on the infamous Swati murder case.

Now, the model-turned-actress is awaiting the release of her upcoming film Galtha, which revolves around medical waste and its impact on society. Antony, who was part of Vijay Sethupathi’s productional venture, Merku Thodarchi Malai, will be seen playing one of the leads in the film. Talking about her role to DT Next, Ayraa says, “I play a college girl in the film and it will be something new for the audience. My character is very bold and independent. It will travel throughout the film along with the protagonist. Galtha is about how medical waste and other toxic substances getting dumped in villages near Tamil Nadu border and we, as a people, contribute to it as well.”


She adds, “Though there are a few romantic sequences, the film is all about this issue and conveys a very important message in the end.” She also reveals that the post production works are going on in full swing and they are planning to release it in early 2020. Ask about her upcoming projects, she says, “I have completed shooting for a film titled Siren and it has come out really well. My character in the film is completely in contrast with the one I play in Galtha. It’s a black comedy thriller and I play RS Karthik’s love interest in the film. I am quite excited about it.”


Interestingly, the actress has recently signed a web series, which will be aired on ZEE5. “I have started working on it. But I am not sure whether I can divulge details about the project as its too early.” The actress is also in talks for couple of projects, which she will be announcing in the coming days.
