However, I didn’t get the right break. I happened to meet quite a few producers during my acting tenure and that is how V1 happened. Despite waiting for 10 long years, the fire in me has not died,” Pavel told DT Next. He said that the film is a forensic investigative thriller. “The story is completely set in the backdrop of Chennai. The film will also inform people about a condition called nyctophobia, which is fear of darkness. The hero of the film Ram Arun Castro met a lot of people to prep for this role. When I did my research on the condition, there were no references available. This will be the first movie talking about it,” he added.

Pavel added that the film’s title V1 has a suspense to it. “The title will be justified when you watch the film. An incident takes place inside a house, with the address V1 and there’s a lot more to it,” he explained. The film has Malayalam actress Vishnu Priya playing the female lead and Lijesh playing a crucial role. “When I was shooting with Lijesh for Madras, I used to tell him about my directorial aspirations. He was the first one to enact a scene for me because he trusted me. Despite being a friend and a well-wisher, I auditioned Lijesh to see if he fitted the bill,” smiled Pavel. V1 is all set to hit the screens on December 13.
