    Team Laabam donates building to farmers

    We had earlier reported that Vijay Sethupathi and Shruti Haasan have started shooting for Laabam, directed by SP Jananathan.

    The latest news is that Vijay Sethupathi and co have donated a building for farmers in the village where they shot the film.

    A source close to the film’s unit told DT Next, “The set of a Farmers’ Welfare Association building was erected at a cost of Rs 15 lakh. After the completion of the shoot, the team contributed Rs 25 lakh and constructed a proper building and donated it to the farmers.”


    Produced by Vijay Sethupathi Productions and 7C Entertainment, Sethu plays a social activist who creates awareness on the current situation of the farmers and Shruti is said to be playing an independent musician. Famous Telugu actor Jagapathi Babu plays the antagonist in Laabam. The makers are aiming to release the film in February next year.


    Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi has also started working on Thalapathy 64, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. He is also waiting for the release of Sanga Thamizhan.
