My music reflects my personality: Hriday Gattani

The song has its English lines, written and crooned by Hriday Gattani, who was mentored by the Oscar-winning composer. “For you My Love is an English-Punjabi Fusion. When sir narrated it to me, the idea was whimsical. I ensured that my verses will have to be delivered it with the right dose of emotions. I thank Rahman sir for this opportunity, and I am glad that the song has been garnering positive reviews,” he told DT Next.

Hriday was mentored at Rahman’s KM Conservatory in the city. The duo had previously collaborated in Kaatru Veliyidai and One Vision. “The best thing about Rahman sir is that he treats each of his students equally and we all are his favourites. He also gives us the freedom to explore and I think that is one of the reasons I was able to perform at my own will in the video. I strongly believe that my music reflects my personality. A few of them are based on my personal experiences.” added Hriday. Talking about the indie music scene in the country, he said, “The scene is getting better and as artistes we need to keep pushing our boundaries. Musicians in the country are coming together and have been experimenting to take indie music to new heights,” he concluded.
